
- Approximately 70 model studies and more than 50 images of architecture student design Pelita Harapan University, Lippo Village, Tangerang, on display at East Grand Mall, Second floor Indonesia. “For the first time held UPH Architecture Student’s Exhibition dedicated to the public and held off campus,” said Susinety Prakoso, Chairman of the Department of Architecture of UPH.
The field of architecture in Indonesia is increasingly growing. Architecture began to enter into the discourse of everyday society, and especially Jakarta Indonesia. Many people who start do not see architecture as a mere building but as something that has social meaning, culture and politics. This understanding closely with the extent to which architecture can be appreciated by a wider audience and therefore the architecture of educational institutions have an important role.
“Architectural education institutions must be sensitive and able to formulate an architectural education at the right in context and not simply follow what the trend,” adds Susi.
That statement was punctuated by the Chief Architect Association of Indonesia, Jakarta, Ahmad Djuara “I hope that the graduates of architecture can become a professional in his field.” He also added that education at FMU architecture differs from what the other campuses. “The combination of academic faculty and professional good enough, it looks from the work of students who exhibited more expressive,” he added.
Glenn Hartanto, lecturer at the Department of Architecture FMU, as well as the exhibition curator, hopes the exhibition will attract and benefit the many visitors. “Feel the story implied by the series of works on display as well as the forms exposed,” he said.
“This event is held in partnership with the committee Jakarta Architecture Triennale 2009, which also opened on Wednesday (4 / 11). During this 18 day event open to the public,” said Public Relations Section Head FMU, Rosse Hutapea.
